NEW YEAR’S EVE AT RESTAURANT 1777, THE OLD RECTORY

The Old Rectory Hotel & Spa in Plettenberg Bay is delighted to be hosting a NEW YEAR’S EVE DINNER! Gather your family and friends for an evening of delicious food, fine wine, great music, and plenty of fun.

RING IN THE NEW YEAR WITH US

  • We will begin the evening on the pool terrace at golden hour with oysters and a glass of Kay and Monty’s MCC Champu, paired with live music from the Riddle.

  • Dinner will commence at 7pm. Our Executive Chef, Justin Kotze, has created a ‘Classic Karoo’ inspired three-course menu (R700pp). Arrangements can be made for earlier dining for our younger guests too.

  • After dinner we will be serving coffee, tea, grappa or sherry, and playing music through the ages – starting from the 60s and working our way to the present day as we ring in the New Year together!

On arrival

  • Oysters with a glass of Kay and Monty MCC Champu

  • African sushi with smoked crocodile and wasabi mayo

Harvest Table Salads and Starters

  • Springbok carpaccio terrine with black figs and melba toast

  • Traditional ‘skilpadjies’ with tomato and chilli jam

  • Kudu biltong, blue cheese and pear salad

  • ‘Spekboom’ and shaved fennel salad with oranges and artichokes

  • ‘Madumbe’ and bean salad with olives and mustard dressing

Plated Mains

  • Karoo ‘lamb ribbetjie’ stuffed with green figs and feta, served with peppered potatoes and green beans

  • Biltong spiced Kudu loin with beetroot, spiced plums, toasted pistachios and crisp potatoes

  • Braised beef short rib with caramelised onion and sherry, served with mustard mashed potatoes and heritage carrots

  • Grilled line fish with crispy chicken skin and pine nut crust, cauliflower mash and baby vegetables

  • Butternut and sage ravioli with sundried tomato cream and Parmesan

  • Leek cannelloni with millet and roasted vegetables

Plated Desserts

  • Baked ‘dadel en brandewyn’ pudding with custard

  • Amarula ‘melktert’ with honey ice cream

  • Cinnamon spiced tofu silken with honey and chopped pistachios
